Time is a flying

Tuesday, tuesday! I’ve just hopped on a few difference blogs this afternoon, so many people with such interesting things going on in their lives and GORGEOUS scrap pages. It’s worth the time :) Of course, that’s the thing, it’s flying by!! I’ve had to let É have a meltdown TWICE because we couldn’t go downstairs… I started building our workbench…. and it’s still strewn all over the basement floor! SO, I need to get my butt down there and finish. Me thinks a little girl wants to watch some tv ;)

I’m trying hard to find designers that also sell their products for commercial uses, but seeing as I’m not into the “use the same kit a thousand times over” I can’t really justify paying SO much more for a kit commercially. Ah well, I’ll have to bite the bullet and get it over with. Don’t get me wrong, I KNOW all those wonderfull designers out there are working their collective butt’s off to offer really spectacular kits, I just can’t justify buying a kit that’s more expensive than one of my LO, KWIM? Oh well, maybe MY prices are too low? What do you think?

I DO have a list of names I’m going to be contacting soon and see, but again, I still need clients for all this to work and I haven’t yet posted my flyers. I should get a move on that and send my flyers to the nearest staples to get printed! I SO want to get this off the ground, but it’s already a little discouraging, when there’s obviously no one reading my blog :(

If anyone is out there, please leave a comment…

So, here’s my two cents, which are likely not worth much : )

I don’t see why you have to have a blog to run a great locally-oriented digi-scrapping business. I mean, why are the two things necessarily connected. That’s not to say you shouldn’t blog if you want to! I just mean that I don’t see the connection in terms of the business.

It seems to me that you need to figure out who potential clients are (new parents, for example) and then figure out what, if anything, they read. Where do they go? Are there any mom’s groups or baby gyms, or places where they might see a flyer from you? I liked the idea of your doc’s office, if you’re allowed to post. How about natural foods stores. They often have places to post adverts, and moms often go there for organic food. I dunno, that seems like a more likely source if you’re looking for local business.

Good luck! I think your work is lovely and I hope you find the clients to allow you to keep at it!
