May-day May-day

Beautiful isn’t it?! Well, hopefully it’s as nice everywhere as it is here. It’s warm and breezy, if only it would stay :P I can hear lawn mowers at work and undoubtedly it will smell like grass clippings! I LOVE that smell :)

We had quite an eventful weekend full of renovation, mad cleaning, swim class and garage sale scores! Oh and one VERY kick-a$$ workout! OUCH!

My mother and father came over early (for them :P) Saturday morning and while I was out exchanging the sink that I had JUST bought before they arrived, my father proceeded to rip out the old counter (just one of the 3 planes we have). Came back to LOTS of stuff everywhere! Should have taken pictures!! They got here around 10:30am and we’re gone a bit before 11pm!! Can you say ALOT of work! Wow! BUT, it looks FABULOUS! I now have a bigger sink and a counter that is actually 36 high instead of almost 35! I had never noticed it would make SUCH a difference. (OK, I’m using WAY too many exclamation points here :P) Then, the cleaning, well, I was trying to have a Debbie Travis moment trying to clean everything up before my lovely husband came home, but I got my hours wrong by 1 :P So he came in as I was straightening up! oops. Oh well, I still got everything taken care of before bed and Sunday was spent admiring the new counter and wiping wood dust from our socks :P

Sunday morning, heartfelt reunion for my daughter and husband. Seeing as he came home so late, she didn’t get to see him but had a good ‘ol hug for him that morning! So sweet. She got to run around with him again while I got breakfast ready (like any ‘ol weekday) and she didn’t shy away from him, not once! YAY! Then it was grocery (for daddy) and swim lessons (for mommy and É) time so off we went. Ahem, yeah, my child is VERY shy lately and scared to death that I’ll leave her anywhere! SO, swim class, not so good. I never let go of her, except when I got back in the water to grab her when she slid off the slide and THAT was a disaster! My girl has a STRONG voice. EVERYONE knew she wasn’t happy about having someone else manhandle her onto the slide. Oh well, she would still laugh once she fell into my arms. lol. She LOVES the water, but I think the teachers we’re a little too invasive of her personal space. Most people are, she’s too cute ;)

And GS score! Well, let me tell you, while returning from our first trip from Home Depot Saturday morning, I stopped at a nearby house and SCORED big time! We got a baby swing (SO much better than the new ones you can find now-a-days), a plastic wagon with 2 seats (and home made seat belts :P), a wooden puzzle with animal shapes and a car/shape sorter/pull toy combo. She was ECSTATIC! And the next day I found a turtle sand box with the fitting lid. I’m thinking we’ll get another one and use one for sand and the other as a pool. That way the water will stay clean and warm from day to day with no bird, ahem, projectiles, or leafs and stuff :)

On the scrapping front, no news yet on the CT position. I HAVE given my answer, it’s yes, at least if I can get the job done! My only fear is that it’ll be too much work and I won’t get everything done, but I always overestimate my time, so it may be fine. So keep your fingers crossed, ’cause now I really want this :)

k, only an hour left of nap time, got to decide my priorities, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s anatomy or clean floors… ooh, TOUGH decision ;)
