Oh me oh my!!

It has been a WHILE! Wow, where do I start!

Well, Évelyne is doing FANTASTIC! She actually has gained almost 2 lbs since we started her on the gluten free diet! She has put on weight in her cheeks too! She’s starting to build good arm and thigh muscles too! She’s just all around doing SO much better! And that’s not even mentioning the extent of the energy this girl has! O M G! She does NOT stop! She’s the energy bunny incarnate! I’m telling you, I look at her sometimes and just wonder where this little girl was hiding all this time! She RARELY whines anymore, not more than any typical 2 year old would mind ;) She’s just perfect!

We’ve been traveling the past month too! I had a reunion with my mommy friends and we had a BLAST! You should have seen all the kiddos! It was KEWL! Seriously, all the kids running around, half as shy as É, the other not shy about ANYTHING! Not even coming up to a stranger and grabbing whatever you we’re eating! lol It was a blast :D It was something getting É to eat safely, but I had TONS of help. A few of the girls there bought us some stuff like Lactose free milk, Gluten free tomato sauce and other staples that weren’t to fancy or hard to find. Finally, a WONDERFUL friend from the group that couldn’t be there actually sent us a care package with some of her own favorite things (she’s allergic to gluten, which is entirely more dangerous than É’s intolerance!) and the funny thing, I remembered to pick up the package the last night we we’re there! D’oh! But so far, we’ve loved them all and I’m going to have Yannick scout supermarkets in Atlanta in a couple weeks to buy some more of the peanut butter :P

A couple weeks ago we all went to Rhode Island!!!! Courtesy of a client that wanted MY husband and no one else to come see them, no later than 24 hours after he came home from Belgium, jetlag and all. So to make the deal juicier, they offered to fly É and myself over with him so he’d get a chance to see us that week after spending a whole week away. It was FUN! I’m SO glad we got a chance to go. RI has ALOT of restaurants that cater to the Celiac, like Pinelli Marra’s restaurant chain We tried Twist on Angell and Pinelli’s Deli. Both we’re AWESOME and had GREAT service! All in all, a great last minute trip :)

Then we get to the latest news… had my 19 week U/S today… the BIG one… here are a couple pics:
Profile view (not very clear, the nose is facing up, and the baby’s head is facing the left (the looking at your screen left))
Profile
Face view (you know the creepy skeleton view. The head is in the upper right corner and on the bottom left is the tummy)

And finally… dum di dum dum…

Can anyone guess? He he, I’ll leave the answer in the comment section of this post! bwahahahaha

All in all, a good day. I can’t wait for Yannick to come home, he’s been in Detroit all day, left at 3am for the airport this morning and should be landing any minute now. I’m so happy he got an earlier flight; he would have been up nearly 21 hours if he’d gotten home at midnight! He’ll likely head for bed as soon as he gets here after a nice hot soothing shower. I won’t be far behind. OF COURSE I woke up at 3am when he got up AND had to pee after a few minutes because the door kept rattling and waking me up after he left. Spooky noise when your alone, NOT good! Then I was up at 6am to get É up, fed and dash to get my sister at the subway station so she could look after É in the waiting room during the U/S. New rule, Kids can’t go IN the US room anymore. Besides, I still wanted to have someone there to take care of her even if she could have gone in too.

So, check out the comments and leave one of your own ;)
