Style

What’s in a style? The way you flip your hair? The type of flare you have on your jeans?

I feel that style is more about the way you feel than about what you see. The feeling I want my portraits to give is of unity and simplicity; real life moments with honest emotions. Something that feels fresh and natural while still being unique and high end.

My work style may at times makes it seem like I’ve become your child’s best buddy or favorite babysitter. I like to get down on their level, ask them about their {stuff} and find out who they are. Meanwhile, I rather like having parents finish *getting ready* while I walk around on all fours getting to know their kids. My favorite moment yet was getting one little boy to show me his entire collection of Lightning McQueen paraphenalia!

Depending on their age, some kids need me to just be still and quiet with them for a moment. Interacting with them doesn’t always mean being active. The child’s temperament will dictate which approach I take with them. Don’t be surprised to hear us being silly, making noise and *sounding* disruptive or if we are super quiet and are examining the most interesting bit of fluff on the carpet. When the moment comes, I will know it and will capture the essence of {who} your child is.

Once we are well acquainted, we can move on to family portraits, formal and non-formal (these are my favorite of course!) and simply let the time together unfold naturally as I capture each compelling moment. We can stay in one area for the length of the shoot or change to another room, a backyard, a side street, etc. for a different look and mood to your portraits!

As long as you feel stress free, relaxed and content, then I have succeeded in making this session into {quality} time for your family. The quality of what I offer isn’t just in the end result, but in the whole process. I want this experience to leave you with this feeling that your precious everyday moments were well spent in my company.

The experience itself doesn’t start nor end with your session, but extends to your own private online section of this site, to your subsequent viewing session at my home to look over your portraits and all the way through to my hand delivery of your portraits when they arrive.

Once you schedule your session, you will have access to the Client Information Section. There you will find advice on clothing, how you can help your child cooperate for the session, and the answers to other commonly asked questions.

Please let me know of any questions you may have. I look forward to working with you!
