It’s here! And with a revenge, no? It seems like we’ve been waiting for the bright sunny weather forever and now that it’s here, it brought friends… in the form of nice high temperatures and oppressive humidity! They do say to be careful of what you wish for.

With July just around the corner and some very interesting work I’m doing for a very cool and highly anticipated Kidscentive project, I’ve changed up my calendar and added the few available dates I have, one in July and one in August.

In the meantime, make a splash and enjoy your summer!

I had the immense pleasure of photographing this FUN family! It was a thrill to capture their kids expression! Imagine a sweet 7 year old girl that is obviously born to be a leader and a wee 2 year old brother that has one thing in mind, doing what he wants to do and forget about everyone else! I guess that describes just about every 2 year old on the planet, right? Well, they were a blast, had lots of ideas and let me go to town with their furniture so we could get the sweetest portraits!

At least some days it seems like it is. Sooner or later, it WILL get here and, ’tis the season, for Outdoor On Location Photography!

The calendar is filling up, only a limited number of spots available, so if you’ve been thinking about it… well STOP! And give me a call! June has one weekend left, July is wide open but August is also half booked, ie, 1 spot left!

Take this chance while it passes and take advantage… The Wee Wiggles Fair affair special has been partially extended! If you attended the fair, heard about the fair or are reading this post, you may still take advantage of the 20% off any and all prints. For the summer only, get 25$ off the session fee as well. Like I said, get crakin’, this deal is only here for as long as we may call the upcoming season SUMMER!advert-small

I had a ball getting to know Caroline and Félix this past Friday. Made a fool of myself a couple times (um, fell on my butt trying to get a shot!) but came out almost unscathed… almost. I’ve got a small scrape and a sore spot in my back ;) But all worth the trouble. It’ll teach me to go outside in just socks…

Meanwhile, both of them were a joy to work with and so very patient. We had variable skies and SO much wind. Made for some cool flying hair effects though!

See you soon guys!

For some reason, I couldn’t make it on here to do the draw yesterday, so I’m finally getting to it… well, check back in at 2pm (gotta have that 2 in there SOMEwhere ;)) I decided to get creative and to take pictures of the draw.

And, to make up for getting to this later than I had advertised, I have a special surprise too!

Check back for the result and the surprise in a few ;)

Simply saying it was a “fair” Affair is an understatement. What it was is, gosh, how to put it into words… Fabulous! Eye opening! Fantastic! Fun! Energetic! Joyous! and FULL! Full of little people getting excited over magic, music & great entertainment from parents, exhibitors but also from the hired “fun people” :D

For myself, meeting all these people that genuinely fell in love my photography style was really what spurred me on. I barely had a minute to get a bite to eat from the catering (which I’ll have to find out who exactly was there because it was SCRUMPTIOUS!) between all the attendees milling about and wanting information or just ogling the great looking subjects I had displayed. I have a very ordinary phone picture of my set-up (no, I didn’t take my camera for fear of loosing it in the crowd!) so we’ll all have to make due with that.

I was also taking names for a special attendance draw I will be having April 2nd of this week. Hopefully all of you that signed up will be checking in between now and then, it’ll take place at noon sharp :) I may have a few more “blog specials” in the future, so stay tuned. I was also pleasantly surprised by the number of you that signed up for our future newsletter! I’ll have to get right on that and send the first one out for either mid-April or mid-July, whichever time allows.

Here are the names of the exhibitors and for most of them, the link to their own websites! Of course, Wee Wiggles, the social group behind the event, Belle Mamans, Bebeccino, Beautiful Beads & Gifts, Bummis, Chef a la Carte, Crazy about Cupcakes, Creation Station, DoodleBug, eCause, Enfant et Compagnie, Equimonde, Laurie Hartlen Creations, Le Baby Shop, Le Petit Gym, Love Montreal, Kid Registry, Kidoo, Epicure Selections, Le Den, Leg Warmers (for baby’s and tot’s) by Katrin, Melaleuca, Minimod Sassy Sammy, She’s Crafty.

I hope I got all the names of the exhibitors on here, if not, drop me a comment with your info! This is my way to say thank you for being a part of the Wee Wiggles Fair and making it so much fun. Most of them were Wee Wiggles members as I am, trying to get their name out there for what it is they do in their “spare time” as SAHM (Stay at Home Mom’s), if there is even such a thing as “spare” time. Others came in as either sponsors or simply because they couldn’t let an opportunity to show off their wares pass them by :) To all of you, thank you for helping to make this event the huge success that it was.

But, most importantly, I have to thank our dearest Organizer, Ariana Jaflen, for taking on this massive organizational monster and turning it into a smooth running, well oiled machine. Your contribution to my business being recognized by so many of our members will never be forgotten. Also, a big Thank You to all that helped in the shadows as well, since I volunteered myself to set up and take down tables etc (although I feel like I could have done more!), I know many more volunteers were responsible for making all of this possible too.

I’ll leave you with a mental picture of my absolute favorite part of the event… Imagine floating balloons held onto strings, bobbing up and down and around the venue in an eery detached way between all the parents… Then look down and realize that these balloons are attached to the cutest little people you’ve ever met and their eyes are as wide as dollar coins. You could tell where the kids were walking, just by looking at the balloons meadering around! It was the most precious thing you can imagine! Truly, if there was a moment I wished I had my camera handy, that was it!

Open invitation to this quite exciting event:

I just wanted to get the word out to as many peeps as possible :) I will be having my first public exposure in this fantastic photographic journey at the end of march :) A huge mom & tot’s group I’ve been frequenting the past year and a half is having a Fair where members of our group can expose their business to a larger group of people then WOM can provide by itself.

There will be many more exhibitors, I think I heard about 25 tables. Many door prizes and goodie bags. This kind of affair is most likely directed at young families with children under 5 (but not exclusively!) so if you can’t make it, that’s totally fine, I’d be grateful if you could pass along this invitation to anyone you might think would appreciate this type of event.

The event is free and a doorprize ticket is available as well as the exact location and complete description of the event at the following link :
MARCH 29, 2009 > WEE WIGGLES FAIR AFFAIR > 9:00am-1:00pm > Tickets

If you come to my table and I’m not there, take a look around, I’ll be the one with the camera around my neck :D

Actually, my husband and I finally celebrated our 5 year anniversary by spending a “skiing” weekend at Mont-Tremblant. Well, in all honesty, HE skied while I walked around ALL day and took a few pictures ;) Here are my very favorites. Trust me, it took a LOT to whittle them down to these, I started out with over 250 captures!

Condo/hotel on the mountain side

Apparently a very famous little church, I haven’t looked for it on the official site, but it’s associated with just about any Mont-Tremblant site :)

Silhouetted

Sunflares :)

An absolute FAV

One of my favorite areas full of color and “characteristic” architecture

I couldn’t resist! He was standing right in front of a “Santa’s workshop” type of store.

These next ones are from the top of the mountain, and this is with the free lift ticket I was given by tourists going home early from their 3 day stay :D

The snow is literally glued to the trees! It’s just so beautiful!

Sunflare through icicles

How about snow covered icicles?? They look like alien fingers!

WIDE open aperture!

A view on my way to the look out area

I was running out of time, really, I had 20 minutes left before I HAD to go take the lift back down the mountain to meet-up with my husband ,so I climbed to the lookout through THICK snow with my “walkin’ boots” and I was running up the stairs when I just SAW this beautiful vision, the light was just gorgeous so I ran back down to take several shots, and then did so at all 3 flights of stairs, which is why the panorama through the holes in the stairs changes:

More sunflares!

More trees with the GORGEOUS blue sky! I barely touched these, I adjusted contrast and brightness and nothing else really. Didn’t need to!

Sun flare through a tree :P

Some boarders taking a break watching other people ski by. A couple of them looked up wondering what the heck I was doing! lol

GORGEOUS view!

Top of Tremblant! That’s where the BIG lift brings you.

Going down the lift, I couldn’t resist, I hit my head on the top of the lift a few times taking some of these. Oops. I also took a few sticking my lens out of one of the small windows. Others, like the first one, I took through the scratched up plex-glass windows. Think it adds charm :)

Loner lift on a smaller “hill” if the mountain

A Buddha votive holder at the Asian inspired restaurant we ate for supper. (Sort of small, but the food was DELICIOUS!) We had planned on eating at another restaurant but it only opened at 6 and we had to be out of there by 6 if we wanted to take advantage of the Scandinavians baths before our massages :)

Speaking of which, this is the restaurant we originally wanted to eat at:

The same street I photographed earlier with all the colors and architecture, but from the top and just past sunset

Thanks all folks:) Thanks for looking :)

Hey everyone! Just wanted to stop by and mention that my 2009 calendar is open for appointments. Also wanted to let you know that I’ll only be doing a limited amount of sessions this year. Family first, passion second ;) So about two a month and twelve possible spots for the year. One’s already spoken for so hurry and email/call to get your spot reserved :)
