a few changes in blog land…

If you’ve been glimpsing a new look here and there, don’t be alarmed, I’m revamping the whole site and will often swap them out to “test” them :) Still the same place. Some features might not be working and most of the “other” pages have disappeared. Keep coming back and soon I’ll have LOTS to share!

it has been WAY too long!

Oh my, I have sorely neglected this blog!

As it is, tonight is late, it’s almost midnight (I can do it because the girls are at my moms for the weekend.. PARTY! lol)

Just wanted to touch base a second and tell some things!

Oh WHERE to start!

I’ve been working HARD at learning the ins and outs of my camera and the 2 lens I’ve had since March. Well, I’ve decided that I need to upgrade my lens. So I’ve already sold on, trying to sell the other (might get that done tomorrow!) and will be getting the 50mm f1.4 as an upgrade to my f1.8 version. I’m hoping to add a 85 f1.8 in the spring or summer or maybe a GREAT zoom lens, depending on money and shooting opportunities.

I joined a FANTASTIC online pro photography forum and am just learning SO much of the does and don’t of BUSINESS that I had no idea of where to start. SO many great people there to share their knowledge and resources. AMAZING!

What i NEEd to do though is learn more hands on things. Life with a BUSY BUSY BUSY (can i say busy again??) toddler (yep folds, the little itty bitty baby in the June post just below is now 10 months and about to start walking!!) and an equally busy preschooler is, wow, for lack of a better word… exhausting, marvelous and frustrating all rolled into 2 sweet packages ;) My love for the art of photography is sadly taking second seat to my sanity ;)

Meanwhile, I’ve still managed to progress in my learning and must say that I cannot WAIT to get my new lens and and capture crisp images as I’ve been nailing other technical aspects I had been struggling with so far.

On the personal front, Évelyne is doing fantastically with preschool, LOVES going and showing off all her arts and crafts. The school was VERY accommodating of her special needs (no wheat/gluten in crafts and have NO ONE touch her snack place mat at snack time, etc) and so far we’ve had no ill effects to show for it :) HUGE relief for mommy :D
Gabrielle on the other hand, although she is a BALL of energy (she is MUCH worse than the energizer bunny! she will literally JUMP up and down while you are holding her seated on your hip, no lie!) is exhibiting some uncanny physical similarities to Evy at the same age. Not to mention that weirdly enough, although she was weighed and measured at 1 lbs and 1 inch heavier and taller than Evy, her 6 mo and 9 mo stats are EXACTLY the same as her sisters, except for head measurements. Her big sister has a big ol noggin’ ;)

Both girls had blood draws early last week (Evy’s as a routine yearly follow up, GabY,s as her first every other year check up if it turns out Neg). We’ll have the results early January. Here’s hoping…

And finally, just a couple Holiday spirit captures of my wonderfully healthy looking 3 year old :) (I’ll try and find her 2 yo portraits and take a pic for you all to see the difference a year has made! Not to mention the 15 pounds she put on in the past year! NO JOKE! well, and the approx 4 inches as well :)) And lastly our “best” family pic, using the on camera timer (10 seconds!!! Someone needs a remote! lol) and misc thrown objects to get gaby to look somewhat forward because all she wanted to do was look at the tree or touch our faces! lol.

late tag!

Wow, seriously, I hadn’t noticed Cherry’s tag from way back in February! Scary how fast life has run away with itself! My dd#2 is already 5 months past!!

Here’s the tag:

I’ve been TAGGED by Cherry. So here are my 6 Weird Things About Me….

1. I NEED to look into all four corners of my bedroom ceiling to see if there are any spiders or I cannot fall asleep!
2. My husband and I have had the same goodnight ritual since we started sleeping “together” a little over 6 years ago. saying goodnight and sweet dreams. If he doesn’t say sweet dreams I actually nudge him or say it myself, else I just don’t close my eyes!
3. I wear earplugs to bed
(sheesh, most of my weird things have to do with sleep! HA!)
4. I can wiggle my ears
5. I can “crack” most every joint on my body including but not limited to, my neck, right shoulder and big toes
6. I can touch my tongue to my chin, but not my nose :P

There ya go, sadly, I’m so out of the loop of anyone else’s blogs that this sadly ends here :P

Time is a flying

Can’t get enough of it EVER. Gaby is napping but will be up soon, there’s one STINKY diaper to change and so much to post about. Sadly, I’ll just post a recent pic of my girls and hope it tides whoever is reading over until I get real TIME to do anything :)

A new addition to the Lefebvre family

Due to the circumstances, it is me, Andrée husband Yannick, writing this post instead of Andrée herself:

For all those who have been waiting for the news, you’ll be happy to know that our daughter Gabrielle Josée Lefebvre was born on February 15 at 11h51pm. Weighing in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces, Gabrielle is a healthy baby. She was also quite tall at 21 1/2 inches. Mommy is also doing quite well after the natural delivery (helped with some great epidural). I just came back home to take care of Évelyne and Andrée and Gabrielle should be release from the hospital tomorrow.

We’ll get pictures and updates posted as soon as possible. For now, Andrée kept the camera with her at the hospital.

Don’t know which one I like best, I wanted to stop the movement, but this is as fast as my shutter could close with enough light and a high ISO. The pics are pretty grainy, but I think it lends itself well to B&W. WDYT?

Hole

HOLE
Just the sink hole, I thought it looked pretty cool. Took the photo a little too close-up originally, I crop all my pictures to 4×6 size, so I’m a little sad I had to crop into the circle for this one.

Jet

JET
I know, this is supposed to be sports week, but we have NOTHING in this house. Neither of us play sports enough to have anything. Except maybe my husbands skis :P Maybe to finish up the week…SO, I was finally able to take a pic of the water coming out of my kitchen faucet. Took ALOT of tries and this is the best one, or so I think. I played around with all the Manual settings and finally found one that was pretty good. I’ll have to dig up the settings though!

Drops

DROPS
I actually just splashed some water on the window and took a couple pics :P Not like it was going to rain anytime soon!

Splash

SPLASH
Just another one of the tub series :P I ADORE her face in this one, can a child be having MORE fun than this! She LOVES doing this while the water drains out. Normally we close the curtains… daddy was also wet and he was standing near the door! She wasn’t into splashing before her diagnosis, it’s so cool to see the things she likes to do now that she has more energy. Don’t know what I’m babbling about, check out my news blog, august posts :) CC welcome!
