Splish

SPLISH
Just catching up. I know the quality on these isn’t the best, although through this medium it might not be too bad. THere’s LOTS of noise. I used the flash on my P&S because, well, I wanted to freeze the water in action. I think the shot is great, but I’m SO looking forward to having a camera that can do that without having to resort to a flash. I had to pump up the exposure in PS and well, we all know what that does, LOTS OF GRAIN! Maybe in M mode I’d have found something that worked, but I didn’t have 20 minutes to figure it out. Oh well, enjoy :) CC always wanted!

Bubble

BUBBLE
Last year (March) we played SO much outside, let’s just say I wasn’t pregnant and leave it at that. One of my daughter’s FAVORITE games, was running after bubbles outside in our driveway! It had just rained or snowed so the bubbles weren’t popping upon touching the ground! Pretty impressive sight! That’s her purple boots in the background :P

Ice

ICE
LOVED how the sun was playing through the holes of our patio screen onto the half melted snow/ice. Again, taken last February.

Sad

SAD
Another oldie, a very sad picture, she really banged up her lower lip February of last year. Thankfully it didn’t need stitches. I don’t even remember WHY I took this pic, but tears are water, right? And not all photos are of joyous events.

Puddle

PUDDLE
Playing catch up. An older picture of my daughter playing in puddles in Nov. 2005. I’ve got to give credit to my husband for this pic though, he really caught the movement of the water on this one!

Just a street

STREET
Just a street in our neighborhood. I thought it was beautiful the way the sun was shinning through the trees like that. Of course, I took most of this week’s pictures last week (shhh!) and some time this week we got a good snowfall (FINALLY!) so it looks nothing like it does this week :P It’s just REAL cold to be out and about unless you’re in a warm car! lol

Strip Mall

STRIP!
STRIP2
STRIP3
Didn’t know which to choose :P 3 shots of the same little strip mall just down the street. It houses our closest convenient store, a daycare, a preschool, a hairdresser, a card club, an AA meeting center and now a closed down restaurant. The architecture probably dates back to when this area was a city of it’s own, but I loved the way the arches looked at all these angles with the early winter setting sun.

440

440
I absolutely wanted to share this spot. There’s a walking/biking trail that goes under this overpass for the nearest highway around here, the 440. Although graffiti aren’t the nicest thing to look at, I thought it had that city appeal to it when I saw it… last year… which is when I took the pic :P Sorry, at 37 w preggo I’m not going to schlep myself and a sick 2 year old to retake a perfectly good shot ;) It’s not as nice as I remember but it’ll do :)

Renaud

RENAUD
I love this little tidbit in our neighborhood, makes you really think how small and seperate everything was before. It says “VILLE DE RENAUD” on it, which was the name of our neighborhood when it was a city in itself! Now it’s just a neighborhood name inside a borrow inside a city. I like finding these little pieces of history, sorta makes you feel special for seeing it when so many other people just walk on by…

View of MTL

VIEW
In the far distance, you can see some very small buildings, that’s the island of Montreal. Wish I had a DSLR with a good zoom for this shot, didn’t turn out at ALL how I wanted. Oh well, one day.
